The Picture Really Doesn't Do it Justice, February 25, 2012 By PB (Dallas Tx) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Celestron 80mm Guidescope Package with 125mm Rings and 80mm Guidescope with Extension Tube (Electronics) I received this item and I was shocked as to how meaty the hardware is on this thing. This is a well made item and worth the $$$. To mount it, you will require the appropriate Dovetail bar for CGE that will fit your scope. The only drawback I see would be it's weight. I didn't weigh it before putting it on my scope but I would guess it to be around 11 pounds total including all hardware (including the dovetail, mounting rings and the scope). Depending on your motorized scope the extra weight may put some strain on your motors so be sure to rebalance your scope once installed. If you don't have enough counterweight, you will need to purchase another weight for your scope like I had to do because even moving my existing weight all the way to the end of the bar wasn't enough to balance out the additional weight. Keep that in mind when you budget this purchase as you may need to buy another counterweight. I installed mine to my C8 SGT XLT Advanced Series Scope and it adds a lot of... Read more
