Excellent EVF for the Olympus E-PL2 digital camera, June 17, 2011 By This review is from: Olympus Elec View Finder VF-2 for PEN cameras (Electronics) I have been using this EVF for 2 weeks on my new (1-1/2 months) Olympus E-PL2. It is an excellent and well made viewfinder. It's clears, has minimal lag and is easy to use.
However after first using the excellent LCD on the camera prior to receiving my VF-2, I found I could actually live without it....if I had too. However I don't and I am glad I got it.
The VF-2 swivels up so you can do low level shooting with the Oly. The bottom line is that the VF -2 is great to have if you can afford it, it's easy to use, excellent clarity, it's very expensive and not the best value for it's utility. Sop around if you decide to buy it.

I prefer using the viewfinder to compose pictures even when lighting isn't a problem. It's small enought that it really doesn't change the camera's form factor much. A bit pricey, but worth it for making the camera much more pleasant to use in strong lighting situations.

The slip-on view finder makes it very easy to set up the field of view in all lighting conditions. It should have been built in but it is an optional item: unfortunately the view finder is expensive. It does work well.
